How to choose: wires and cables
Selecting cable
Choose the conductor size (mm squared) from the load current and permitted voltage drop, and the number of cores from the circuit. Choose the insulation for the environment and fire-safety requirement, such as flame-retardant low-smoke (FRLS) types for panels and buildings. Use screened cable for encoder, signal and drive motor connections, and industrial Ethernet cable for networks that run near motors and drives.
