Sizing a SCADA package
SCADA software is usually licensed by the number of data points (tags) and clients. List the PLCs and devices to connect and check that drivers exist for them. Decide whether you need web or mobile access, alarm handling, trending and historian, reporting, redundancy and user-level security. Plan network security between the plant floor and office systems before opening remote access.
